FINAL POST

 

Hi! This is my final blog post. ☹ We have come to Educational Technologies class. So, I would like to talk about my experience in this lesson I took.

I always thought that it is beneficial to use technology while I teach English. Only using a course book in lessons is not good enough to teach a language. However, what I understood from “technology integration in English language teaching” was opening some listening activities from a technological device or opening a video related to the topic I teach. Now, I see that using technology while teaching English is not only these basic activities. There are more creative ways to use technology like podcasting, infographics and KWL chart. These activities focus on students’ actions not teachers’ and this is substantial in terms of students’ usage of English while they use their endless imagination.

If I consider all the tasks I have completed, my favorite one was film review. Making a review to my favorite movie made me feel like I am a real movie reviewer. And I felt like it was a great opportunity to show my favorite film to my friends so that they would wonder and watch the movie. However, I can’t say I feel the same for digital movie poster task. I had a really hard time finding a book to make a movie.

I think it was a great experience to have this course in this term. It contributed to me a lot and I am sure that I will use what I learned from this course. My suggestion to improve this course is presenting the tasks we completed each week. In this way, all our classmates can see what we did and can share their ideas about our projects.
